Big Old Karazhan Thread

I just thought I'd make a new thread in preparation for guild Karazhan raids.

I've edited this post to include more detail, specifically what people we have for what positions and what is needed.
1 Solid tank - good gear is important
1 Off tank(Probably best for a dps warrior or feral druid though a paly could work)
2 Dedicated healers - Priest would be nice but not 100% necessary
1 Healer who can also dps/cc - Maybe a Pala with gear that lets him do some dmg.
5 solid DPS (Nice mix of dps classes shadow priest would be welcome addition)

------------------------------------

Group so far
Tank - Feuya
Off Tank - Position still available
Healers - Dhajin, Shadownmc
Healer Hybrid - Position still available
DPS - Bigal, Shomlin, Naicele, Blackjaxx,

Exact positions will vary according to the bosses and what is needed,
--------------------------

Maybe post here with your class, stats and specs so we can get a regular group going on say a sunday eve Very Happy

So what do we need to make it full guild run?
2 Tanks
5 Dps/random
3 Healers
Something like this, inculding good blue gear or whatever.. i know bigal and many of us knows all this anyways just thought i'd write it here.
I'll really like to hav holy/disc priest or resto druid in there but we will see, me and bigal are imba anyways incase Cool DPS and Tanks not really my department, i'm more into the healing crew hehe. Anyways i'm just thinking aloud to be honest, might as well fill some threads but anyone with any other class specifcs or setup please add some Surprised

Good plan to make this a topic.

Shomlin I know that you have doen kara so do you have any suggestions for us dps? I tried looking but can't really find any good info for locks about kara.

As of now I got(unbuffed):
+damage 536
crit chance: 15,21
life: 5920
mana: 8200

and no green stuff at least=)

I'd say Nai you are pretty close. I'm not really sure for Locks but with elemental shamans at least the recommended dose is over +500 damage, and 15% crit. I would say you could do with a couple of thousand more life though.

Also, mp5 is very important for Shammies although you locks have got that dastardly life sucking thing going which basically means you are borrowing the healers mp5 ;P

I know we are horrible, you know we can also suck the mana out of our pets=)

but ty good to know i should put some focus on stamina. Which in the end will also benefit me not runing out of mana.

Post  Feuya on Tue Apr 29, 2008 2:12 am

i haven't memorized my stats will add them tomorrow.... i do however need to swap out some of my kit, the major pieces are from the righteous set that drop from SV and mech. then i'm about rdy just a libram that i'd love to get hold of that gives me a real def boost, enough to keep me away from that nasty crushing Very Happy
if you hadn't already guessed (cheating if u know) i'm a paladin.

well, we all are about ready for kara, or at least running the first half. managed to recruit a disc/holy priest today by the name shadownmc (make sure to say hi) and if that other resto shammie is gonna join us then we have our 3 healers. if theblood will OT then i think we are set, as we have alot of prime dps Very Happy

my relevant stats are as follows:
10.5k HP unbuffed (need a couple more k for the last bosses)
4.8k MP unbuffed
506 def rating
~92% avoidances with skills (5% innate+chance miss%+parry+dodge+block) so i need another 10% to safely take the last bosses. though i have trinkets that can push me well over the 102% for 35 seconds.
+204 spell dmg

these should hopefully improve as a few choice items drop in the next few days

just a couple more things
does anyone have the key to get in?
i was thinking that maybe someone who has been in before would like to mark the first time, so i can see how its done. either that or i'll hash it out king

I think you'll be fine Feuya at the marking Smile. You can have Dhaj on Whisper giving you secret advice Wink

And I have done the Kara quest chain up till the point where the next step is inside Kara and I just got a key so I think I have it. It's not called the 'key to kara' or something like that though. I'll check to make sure.

MARKY MARK

Post  Dhajin on Thu May 08, 2008 3:02 am

Marks?? I thought we was going to go in and tank and spank the whole thing hehe
Seriously tho i couldn't tell you priorty targets in the trash, ALOT of the trash is undead so the more shackles or traps we have the easier it will be.. if that helps Razz I wont leave you hanging tho its a group effort so I and others will help mark or give suggestions.. but i really think we wont get that stuck at all.

Heres a nice video to watch, not sure if its the best but its got good music Very Happy

Lol very nice video there Dhaj and you're right about the music.

And the key is the asters key and I have it Smile

Previously if you had the key it meant you were attuned. however now no one needs it we just need the one to get inside.

was good music, a bit grainy to see what was going on but it doesn't seem like they'll be too hard, i'll just play the off tank for this boss.

good to get it structured up. just a point with OT and MT, these positions can be juggled for bosses depending on what is needed. for instance in the stables u need to disarm the guy which i can't do, but i will easily be able to OT midnight (daj's vid is useful ) Very Happy so a druid or a warr would be useful there. gonna read up on the other bosses, but i'm sure that with a coupla wipes we'll work it all out.

Here's some very good quality boss videos

http://feeds.feedburner.com/BossSlayersPresentedBySolarShockPictures

Scroll down and Kara bosses start from the bottom , these are quite big videos but i think the clarity will be of help.
Hope the site works Surprised
